Every business that is featured on our Site has been visited and checked out by us – and recommended by other local people - so you can use them with confidence because we know that they truly are one of the best at what they do.

thebestof is a fun and engaging place for passionate and opinionated people to share the experiences that they've had with businesses across UK. We’re on a crusade to find and share the best that UK has to offer – and you can help.

Meet the Team
Michelle Downey heads up thebestof, she comes from a marketing and development background within the travel industry and is dedicated in providing a fantastic service to all our featured and prospective best of members. Actively showcasing the very best an area has to offer and we love supporting consumers and business members.

Paul Chapman is the man responsible for the content on our regional and national pages. As thebestof’s Commercial Director, Paul works closely with our local site owners, but if you know of a fantastic business who we should be shouting about on these pages, he’s the man to get in touch with. He’s in the office most days, and he’d love to hear from you!

Nigel Botterill is the Chief Executive of thebestof. Nigel started his career at Barclays before moving onto become Marketing Director at mobile phone airtime business, Singlepoint and then to Card Protection Plan as Managing Director. Fed up with making money for other people, Nigel set up his own company in 2002, and after finding huge success with his first business, My Mag, he launched thebestof three years later. Nigel remains very excited by the opportunities and challenges that thebestof throws up, and he’s very involved in the day-to-day management of the business.

Technical Director Nigel Davis joined the team in January 2008 bringing over 20 years of software development experience to the team. Nigel is responsible for all technical elements of the website including development, performance and stability. His first job was to manage the design and launch of our new site; throughout the site design and build, Nigel and his team strived to put themselves in the shoes of the end user (so if you’re missing a pair, you know where to look!)
