I am a novice gardener so need lots of help and advice from people in the know. So it was a real joy when I visited Farmyard Nurseries recently. Despite it being a cold dank day, the staff had smiles on their faces and a warm welcome. Gemma was particularly helpful. I wanted winter colour for my window boxes and Gemma advised how to plant to create colour and interest from now until spring. On Gemma's advice I have planted crocus, daffs irises and another bulb ( name escapes me) and for colour now so very pretty violas, thyme and ajuga. Gemma helpfully sketched out a plan. My window boxes are beginning to bloom and some of the bulbs are already showing shoots. Thank you Gemma for all your help and advice. I look forward to coming again soon - this time for some shrubs and in particular Hellebores!!
