The Great North Bikini Challenge
Challenge starts at 11.00am at The Keys
On 26th September 2007, Cosmopolitan Magazine sponsored the photographing of some 1,010 ladies in bikinis to secure a new “world record” entry in the Guinness Book of Records for "The World's Biggest Bikini Photoshoot".
A more recent record attempt in Miami, Florida, failed to beat that record.
The Rotary Club of Middlesbrough ‘Erimus’ believes that, despite the obvious disadvantage of our weather conditions, the ladies of the North East of England can do better, especially if it’s all in a good cause.
So, following on from the use of Redcar beach for the shooting of the Oscar winning film Atonement, ‘Erimus’are organising a photo shoot
They will attempt to grab the Guinness Book of Records entry from the Aussies
Event supported by Redcar & Cleveland Council and Tees Valley Leisure
It will raise funds for the North East Air Ambulance
The record attempt has already been registered with the Guinness World RecordTM organisation and arrangements have been made for the necessary aerial photographs.
There will be extensive publicity across Teesside and the North East, including regional television, and we are hoping there will be a few celebrities to contribute to the numbers.
All it needs now is to get at least 1,011 (and preferably around 1500) volunteers to pay £5 to charity and turn up on 20 July.
Erimus will, of course, be delighted if entrants also bring along any sponsorship money they have raised for a good cause.
If you want to take part then please email gnbc@clevelandcable.com for a registration form.
As nobody can predict the weather conditions for the day of the event, so it will take place come rain, hail or shine.
Following receipt of your entry, you will be sent a registration number and more details of venue and administration, travel and car parking arrangements for the day.
