04 April 2006

The centre of Maidstone is beginning to suffer from gridlock at busy times of the day. Studies have been made and plans are to announced soon as to what will be done.

Early indications are that the report will include:

  • switching key traffic signals to green for longer periods
  • the possible use of bus lanes outside peak times

It was also revealed that Maidstone would be the first of three towns to experiment measures designed to improve commuter journeys.

One part of the projected traffic easing , the Leeds/Langley bypass has now been shelved until the 2011-2016 five year plan which would mean the project starting around 2016 at the earliest. So now solutions there any day soon!

    What are RSS Feeds?

RSS feeds allow you to see when websites have added new content. You can get the latest headlines and stories in one place, as soon as they are published, without having to visit the websites you have taken the feed from.

How do I start using feeds?

In general, the first thing you need is something called a feed reader. This is a piece of software that checks the feeds and lets you read any new articles that have been added. There are many different versions, some of which are accessed using a browser, and some of which are downloadable applications. IE 7.0 has a good feed reader built in, otherwise try Feedreader.
