Hello and welcome to thebestof Yeovil blog.

This part of our site is about providing comment on local news, handy tips and generally airing your views on local issues affecting the community living and working in Yeovil and the surrounding areas.

Just to introduce myself, my name is Jon Majeika and I am the franchise owner of thebestof Yeovil - one of over 350 thebestof franchises around the UK and Northern Ireland.

I am married to a local girl, we have four children and we moved back down to the South West for a better quality of life following the birth of our triplets.

Following redundancy I took a year out of working to help my wife to care for four children under two and then, to the amazement of friends and family, I decided to start my own business. I'd figured that if I worked as hard for myself as I'd worked for others in the past then I could only be successful. I also thought that it would give me some degree of flexibility to enable me to continue to help with the kids!

I came across thebestof.co.uk whilst looking for ideas and I was hugely impressed by how simple and effective the site was. Luckily for me Yeovil was available and the rest, as they say, is history.

Local businesses recommended by local people

At thebestof Yeovil we encourage recommendation and promote choice. We ask the businesses and residents of Yeovil who they think are the best businesses in the area and then we showcase these businesses both online and offline. We include a 400-word description of what they do and give local people the opportunity to write f for them. Through the business profile and by capturing this all important word-of-mouth, the consumer is able to make an informed to choice on which business to use.

The blog

This Blog section of the website is to enable the local community to have their say on issues close to their heart, on things that make them laugh, cry or that simply need to be shared.
