I have knee problems and Cathryn is always very careful that I do not do any excercises which may cause me any strain. She will give me other exercises to do. She is a very caring and professional instructor. I really enjoy the classes and always feel relaxed after a stressful day.
The doctor suggested I try Pilates after going with pain in my hip. I tried some private lessons to practice the breathing, then started the classes. From beginner to advanced, Cathryn's classses suit all levels and both sexes.The classes are relaxed, there is no competeing or 'trying to keep up'. Cathryn walks around the class and talks to you individually and deals with you at your level as you progress she will progress with you. My back and neck has much improved since attending class, as has my posture. They are very enjoyable,comfortable classes, suitable for everyone to join.
Having attended many different pilates classes in Wrexham and Chester I can genuinely say that The Pilates Centre offers the best in the area. Cathryn is a great Pilates teacher and has made the class both fun and very beneficial for my health. Helping to select the best exercises to suit my health and agility and then to perform them properly. I couldn't recommend her classes highly enough.
I had tried Pilates a few times through local gyms but had found them to be very large groups and not very good tuition when I needed extra help/attention following a longstanding shoulder/neck injuries. My acupuncturist recommended Cathryn's class and I've been going regularly for over a year. After about 6 classes I had made a great improvement to my posture generally but also I was able to move my neck/shoulders more freely and with less pain and I have continued to get better and stronger. I really look forward to the class as it is friendly and supportive, and Cathryn ensures that exercises are tailored to your ability, so that you progress at your own speed. Thank you Cathryn!

Cathryn has taken the very best from Alan Herdman, the UK's foremost Pilates teacher, and blended it with her own personality and ideas to to create classes that are both physically stimulating and extremely friendly. Although there can be anything from 10 to 15 people in a class you always come away feeling you have had one-to-one attention. This means that everyone gets the maximum out of each session. The other attraction is that she does it all for a quarter of the price of London classes.
I've had a long standing back injury from a work related accident in the construction industry. Over the years I've tried everything from physiotherapy to osteopathy and chiropractic clininic. All offered me short term relief from the pain but it has only been through regular Pilates sessions that I have any lasting relief. Cathryn is a wonderful teacher and I would have no problem recommending her.
I had tried several different Pilates classes before finding the Pilates Centre. Cathy is the best instructor I have come across, she has an excellent teaching style giving everyone individual attention during the session to help you get the best out of a class. She is also very caring and uses her extensive knowledge to offer alternative exercises for people with difficulties. The Pilates studio is a nice relaxing environment with all the equipment needed already there for you and there are several classes suitable for all levels during the week to choose from. I LOVE Cathryn's Pilates Classes. They are friendly and fun, but much more - for me, I'm sure they're keeping the effects of ageing at bay - reversing them even. I've been going to Cathy's Pilates sessions for 2 yrs now and find it's the best 'switch-off' from a hectic family life. It's helped me tone-up after having 2 children and is a great way to mentally relax & exercise at the same time! Cathy's a great instructor and manages to remember everyone's ailments,offering an alternative exercise if that one isn't suitable for you, so you don't feel you're missing out. Flexible booking is also great to be able to book & pay as you go, rather than having to block book. Morning sessions fit in great with school and really set you up for the day - highly recommend it! I have been attending the Pilates Center for a number of years, and I look forward to the Class. Cathryn is a very good teacher as she encourages you to achieve your best. She always demonstrates how to accomplish different techniques, and gives praise no matter how feeble your attempts may be. The class is relaxing and I personally feel I have a better posture, and less back pain. The facilities are good, and I can really unwind and forget the worries that build up each day. I would definately recommend The Pilates Centre to friends; as beginners, improvers or advanced classes are ran by Cathryn throughout the week.
I am very impressed with the instructor's expertise and attentive teaching style. I attended whilst pregnant and with some problems with my pelvis. It was clear that the instructor knew what she was doing and I felt like she took very good care of me.
There is always a warm welcome when you visit the pilates centre. Cathy has a lovely, soothing voice to help wash away the stresses of your day. It is a time when you can focus on yourself (for a change!), and the stretches and exercises are great, ridding you of those niggling back aches. Well done Cathy!

I'm a post Stroke victim from November 2007. I have various problems due to the stroke and have recently had Heart procedures. Having always done gym work I completed my Cardiac Rehabilitation but had post Stroke fatigue and found that the rehab of course helped with the Heart but caused my Post Stroke problems to get worse. I have tried other types of rehabilitation but since going to Pilates with Cathryn Ive found that the impact on the body is far less but still get full benefit from the various exercises. I would recommend anyone to try Pilate's especially with an expert like Cathryn.
Cathryn was recommended to me by a physiotherapist. For a number of years I suffered and ignored lower back pain particularly when walking and when I eventually got it checked out was told that my poor posture was to blame. I have been doing pilates with Cathryne for 12 months now and am happy to say that my posture has improved significantly and I no longer suffer with lower back pain. I highly recommend Pilates with Cathryn to anyone - what ever your fitness level. She assesses your individual needs and limitations and helps you to improve your weak areas. I was recommended to Pilates by my Chiropractor.He told me all of my muscles needed retraining to do what they were supposed to do and Pilates was the very thing I needed.At the time I was finding everyday living a real struggle so I joined Cathryn's classes and I am now back enjoying my walking again.We are all treated as indiduals and learn at our own pace and another bonus is Cathryn and her ladies are a delight to be with.

Cathryn took time out to find out about my particular problems and customised the exercises so that I could get the best out of the classes. I have suffered from cronic pain & mobility problems since over 10 years. I had not tried pilates before but was recommended by a friend. After 1 session I was hooked! Cathryn considerd my health issues & worked the exercises so that I was most comfortable & not putting any strain on my body, e.g. elevating my legs on a swiss ball. She could see when I was uncomfortable & helped with positioning.I feel more relaxed & sleep better as a result of my classes as well as being more toned. Would highly recommend to anyone of any age / fitness level
