Chariotts - Charitable Organisation

Chariotts charitable organisation has helped disabled people and those with sensory impairments in Wrexham County for over 10 years.

As with any charitable organisation, Chariotts depends heavily on the goodwill and monetary donations of the public and also the time donated by it's team of volunteer drivers.

To extend this very necessary service the charity urgently requires Drivers who can donate any amount of their time.

More about Chariotts and the charitable services it provides...

• 75% of disabled people in Wrexham live in their own home
• the lack of suitable, easily accessible public transport causes missed opportunities, social isolation, and unemployment.  It also restricts access to employment and leisure facilities, creates limited life horizons.   Many disabled people, purely through lack of transport facilities, are socially invisible.
• All disabled people are members of our society with a right to a full quality of life.  They must be given the opportunity to travel, work, be educated, and integrate into the community.
• Through the use of our vehicles, specially adapted to carry wheelchair users and their carers, provide a readily available, dependable, and volunteer operated individual transport service, thus reinforcing their sense of independence and removing the feeling of social exclusion.

Every year the charity's volunteer drivers carry 1000's of passengers around Wrexham County, helping them regain the indepence that the able bodied enjoy more freely.   As with all charitable organisations, Chariotts depend on our fully trained volunteers - and without them our service would be unsustainable.
