Are we wasting our waste ?

Bookmark and Share

Just when we have all been educated into recycling our waste products the recession has caused a severe drop in demand, and price, for waste products. In particular huge "haystacks" of waste paper are being stored, at considerable expense, for an indeterminate period. It is essential that we continue the "good habits" with waste products so we must find a way to deal with the huge stock piles that are being added to daily.

At the same time we are aware that coal is still being imported for our power stations.

Compressed paper burns cleanly, and we have more of this than we know what to do with.

Why can't we replace the expensive imports with our paper surplus?

Seems to be a good solution to me. Has anyone else any constructive views?
