Our community is launching the Heroes Welcome Scheme, and Bassetlaw has joined a growing network of Towns and Cities across the UK who have shown their support for the British Armed Forces.

With a long weekend from June 2nd until June 5th 2012 dedicated to celebrating Her Majesty’s 60 year reign, Worksop has a range of events taking place to celebrate this auspicious occasion. So pack your picnic and have fun!

With the English weather playing tricks on us, we are not to know whether it's shorts and t-shirts or rain coats and brollies. Luckily for us, either way there is plenty going on in Worksop this May.

This year’s family friendly May Day Festival will be held from 11am until 3pm, with a whole host of activities and events, including a Food and Craft Market, Face Painting, Bouncy Castle and Inflatable Assault Course!

The Olympic Flame is being transported around the UK for 70 days between 19 May and 27 July 2012, ahead of the Olympic Games. The Olympic torch will be coming to a venue near Worksop – take a look and see when & where you can see it and cheer it on.
