Visited the Moorhen Restaurant today after having arranged to meet relatives for a surprise lunch for my father to celebrate his 89th birthday. There was 9 of us in total, three from North Yorkshire and six from Nottingham. None of us had been there before and indeed booked on the back of "The Best Of" What a lovely place, a warm welcome, lovely food in a relaxed setting where we were not rushed. The service was excellent and the staff very helpful. Highly recommend it. Thank you.

We use the Charnwood all the time, normally we eat in the bar area, but we also use the beautiful restaurant for special occasions! The staff are great and the food and service can't be beaten!

I have been to The Charnwood three times now, first for a wedding, second for a ladies luncheon and thirdly for a meal in the restaurant a few days ago for a christmas meal. I found all three times the food was superb, the staff were friendly and the entire experience is to be definitely recommended.
I will be definitely using The Charnwood again for future functions and I will be recommending it to others.

Just held our Ladies at Lunch business networking event at the Charnwood Hotel, the staff in all areas of the hotel were friendly, professional, accommodating and could not have been more helpful. The food was fabulous and all service was in a timely manner. The hotel had obviously worked incredibly hard and cleared away all the snow making the car park very safe for guests. Well done to all the staff and management at The Charnwood, I would highly recommend this venue for any corporate event.

Me & my partner got married here last september & we could not have imagined a more spectacular day! Every detail was perfect, from the moment I stepped out of the wedding car to our first dance! The Marquee looked absolutly amazing & made it just that bit more special. The staff really are wonderfull & couldn't do enough to ensure that we & our guests were having the best time possible. After our last lunch at the Charnwood we decided to give it another try. What a difference to our last experience. The menu had more choices than before, and I would also say more adventurous choices. I ordered tiger prawns in a temera batter served with chilli dip. Fresh. light batter and the chilli dip was not too hot, magnificent. For my main course I ordered chicken in a white wine, cream and tarragon sauce served with a selection of vegatables. Absolutely beautiful and we had silver service for the vegatables, a nice touch. For dessert I ordered a chocolate and ginger pudding served with custard. A delightful end, to a perfect lunch. As before there were three weddings all being attended to but that didn't interrupt our service one bit. Impeccable service from the staff throughout.

Wow, What a find. A wonderful stylish Restuarant, art decor style, very sophisticated. Great menu, food delicious. Lovely atmosphere. live pianio player and vocalist, swing, jazz.
Great service. This restuarant could be in London it was so good. My friends and I will be returning soon. Forget Bawtry.
