I would like to thank Helen at Leukaemia CARE for her hospitality last night. What a lovely venue and a great hostess! Good luck to the team there on the Outdoor Activity event coming up later this month

It was a great evening at Leukaemia Care. There is a calm welcoming atmosphere in the building and Helen is passionate about what she does and that enthusiasm is infectious.

Thanks to Leukaemia CARE’s campaign on behalf of students who have had bone marrow transplant, my son James was able to take up a place at a medical school without having undertaken all of the previously require vaccinations. Thanks to Leukaemia CARE James can now follow his dream of becoming a doctor.”

Up until I booked my skydive I was excited, but then when I knew there wasn’t any going back I was terrified! It was the single scariest thing I’ve ever done, but also by far the best! I was so nervous in the plane, and the climb seems to take forever, but as soon as you jump, every fear disappears and you feel like you’re flying! I would recommend anyone to do a tandem skydive, and doing it while raising money for charity is such a wonderful opportunity. You know that you’re overcoming a great fear to help others; and there is no greater feeling then that.’

My advice for anyone going through treatment for cancer would be to stay positive and keep smiling...always remember there is someone there to help you if you need it. Pick up the phone to Leukaemia CARE..night or day..you will always find someone willing to listen, who will have a good idea of how you are feeling.”

Thank you, thank you to everybody at Leukaemia CARE for making this event d--able for me. I would never of entered the Great North Run without the protection of a charity vest as it was that which spurred me to go on but at a reasonable level. The expectation of me was always to finish and not complete in a fast time. It has been an opportunity which has bee life changing. No longer a victim of Leukaemia and now every inch a survivor.
