Thinking of writing a poem? The Wolverhampton Literature Festival poetry competition is once again open for entries, and you can send in your poems – on any subject you choose – any time between now and midnight on December 31st, 2022.

As always, the competition has a £400 1st prize, a 2nd prize of £150, and three 3rd prizes of £25, but there’s also an additional prize of £50 for the best poem sent in by someone living in a WV postcode. Judging for this prize will be done by the current Wolverhampton poet laureate, Kuli Kohli. Jane Commane of Nine Arches Press will judge the main competition.

The fee for entering a poem to the competition is just £4.00, or you can send in three poems for £10.00. For more information, go to https://www.wolvesliteraturefestival.co.uk/competition.html

The 2023 festival takes place over the weekend of 3-5 February, and full details of what’s happening will be coming very soon. Watch this space!
