Days Out and Attractions
As the museum has so much to offer, it is recommended that you take at least half a day to explore it's many attractions, which include:
-Costumed demonstraters and working craftsmen who truly bring the buildings to life with their practical skills, Black Country Humour and local knowledge.
-The Exhibition Halls are currently housing the museum's collection of cars and motorcycles and famous names exhibition.
-The Black Country Living Museum, near Wolverhampton has a huge collection of transport items including trams and trolleybuses for visitors to explore.
-The underground coalmine is a fantastic way to take a trip back in time to experience life as an 1850's coalminer. Visitors spend 35 minutes underground with a guide exploring the maze of roadways and working areas.
-Visitors can take a trip back in time at the fairground, which features a Brooklyn Cakewalk, SWingboats, a Lakin Speedway Ark and a Helter-Skelter for a nostalgic experience. The "old tyme" fair at the Black Country Living Museum, near Wolverhampton, has been run by generations of the same family since the early 1900's.
-St James School was moved to the museum in 1991 with generous funds from the Charles Hayward Trust and it now offers visitors the chance to experience classes in a bygone time- see if you can recite the alphabet backwards or do sums in pounds, shillings and pence!
-The work of self-taught entrepeneur, the limelight 1920's cinema is now preserved as one of the museums best tourist attractions, with showing of silent films and musical accompaniment throughout the day.

-Fish and chips at the 1930's fried fish shop are a favourite amongst visitors to The Black Country Living Museum, near Wolverhampton.
As one of Wolverhampton's premier museums, days out and attractions, the Black Country Museum offers comprehensive insight into the area's past and provides special educational visits, for which it has an excellent reputation. Rooms are also available to hire for private functions and activities. There are plenty of cafe's to choose from, serving hot and cold food and drinks, with a picnic area should you wish to bring your own food. The Museum Shop also sells a huge range of gifts for you to take home as a reminder of your visit.
