Just had a very enjoyable lunch with Adrian from Best of Woking. I asked him how the first couple of weeks were going and he told me it was going really well. The most important point I have to get across, he said, after the last few years, is that I am here to stay. I'm committed, working all hours, getting out to meet people and I am determined to make this business a great success.
To put it in a nutshell, we hit it off. We are going to work together to help SMEs in the Woking area. I can do this both personally with my many contacts and through my work with Woking Chamber of Commerce and Adrian can do it through The Best of Woking.
We are already collaborating on Woking Connections networking which runs at De Vere Gorse Hill on the first Thursday of the month and this will continue with the Woking Means Business Exhibition in October, the Chamber's new Independent Retailers Group and various other projects which we will dream up in the months ahead.
When you work with people you like, it doesn't feel like work at all - its just enjoying life on a day to day basis. We are both fortunate enough to be able to do this - its just that I left it a bit later than Adrian.
