The Wirral Ode Show Poets are Wirral's own performing poetry group. The group are a well established, in existence for around 15 years and familiar addition to wirral events. They get together every third Thursday of each month at 8.30pm. If you would like to see or join them, they currently meet at the Stork Hotel, Price Street, Birkenhead..not far from Hamilton Square...
If you would like to read your own poetry ,you can, as we have an open mike policy. All types of poems from deeply moving to hilarious are heard and a splendid time is guaranteed for all...a local poet once said!
The group have featured at many events including the guitar festival..the balloon festival..euro-day,,,and we have also ventured further afield at events such as at the Buxton Festival and at poetry nights in Liverpool, Bolton, London and even San Francisco..yes we wore flowers in our hair.
Regularly stepping up to the mike are Graeme Kenna, Michelle Wright, Ellie Dunn, Jason Richardson, Mo Barton, Nick Payne and Jim Bennett, as well as a host of fabulous wordsmiths from all over Wirral.
