After all is said and done though…Strasbourg!!
I cannot believe what a beautiful and romantic city this is!! Despite its Valentine’s Day history, it is stunning beyond belief. Not too far away, amazing cuisine and views, so much to do and see….the city with everything!
Nothing says romance like the French, and Strasbourg has to be one of the most romantic cities in France. With its half-timbered houses, picturesque alleyways, canals, bridges…the list goes on and on.
I can hardly wait to sample the delights of the programme of events…for lovers! It’s glamourous, cultural and a little eccentric. 10 days just dedicated to the language of love. Gourmet tete-a-tete dinners, concerts under the stars, surprise after surprise.
From the 5th to the 15th February Strasbourg offers everything your little heart could desire, from dinner and a slow dance party to letting out a sigh of love under the stars with a glass of Cremant d’Alsace in your hand and a panoramic view over the Petite France corner.
No way! I almost forgot about bathing in the moonlight! How could I ever forget the most amazing thing of all!! If you’re a little wild at heart as I am, The Wacken heated outdoor swimming pool is just perfect for that magical evening dip. They have music, special lights…all sorts of wonderful things. What an experience.
I tell you, I’ve never forgotten my last midnight swim in ‘The Wacken’!
After all the excitement and romance of the Valentines festival of events I love nothing more than to slip away to a cosy Alsatian Tavern for wine, sausage and cheese in front of a fragrant log fire….ahhhh perfect!
Yes, I think that Strasbourg is it. All I want for my perfect Valentines experience.
A little fun, a little adventure, a little quiet and a lot of love and romance. A winner all round!
