Watercress must be good - This is a whole festival dedicated to it!
Sunday 13 May 2007 - Put the date in your diary so as not to miss this fabulous day. The historic town of Alresford, in Hampshire will be celebrating the launch of National Watercress week and the start of the British Watercress Season.
Here is just some of what you can see and do!
- Antony Worrall Thompson hosting cookery demonstrations.
- Visit a display of steam lorries and traction engines at Ropley and Alresford Stations.
- Partake in the range of delicious locally grown, speciality foods from the famous Hampshire Fare Market
- Sample delicious watercress dishes at the many restaurants/pubs in Alresford as they compete in the menu section of The Food Awards (Antony Worrall Thompson will present prizes on the day)

- Live music, street theatre, face painting, children's craft workshops and a bouncy castle.

Highlight for this years festival is the 'Watercress Man' who will lead a parade through Broad Street, presenting the crowds with the first watercress of the season.
