Halloween is less than a month away and it falls on a Sunday this year so time is of the essence in planning for the one of the most enjoyable nights of the year. There are more Halloween adventures, events and attractions popping up in Winchester every year. Below are the best of these!
Why not take a trip to Marwell Wildlife – Spooky Halloween Festival starting on October 23rd Here you can meet the tarantula (not for me I am afraid) and other creepy crawlies, lose yourself in the eerie maze( I have terrible sense of direction) and then design and help carve your own pumpkin – so much fun for the children! Another amazing attraction is Wizard Week on the Watercress Line in Alresford which is also starting on October 23rd or the Dr Terror and the Vampires Tomb at the Royal Armouries Museum. If you are looking for more adult style entertainment then two walks might spook your interest. These are the Gory Walks of Winchester on 27 October starting outside Winchester Discovery Centre and the Halloween Walks on October 29th outside the tourist information centre! There are also Halloween events at Winchester City Mill on October 27th and on Halloween Kaye Umansky will be singing spooky songs, reciting poems and reading extracts from her very funny stories. Also on Halloween there is a spooky afternoon in the grounds of Lainston House Hotel called Wizards, Witches and Wellies! If you are too scared to venture outside on Halloween night make sure you keep the ghouls and witches happy with a visit to the Sweet Treat Co to stock up on yummies!!
