Best known for her role as CJ Parker in 'Baywatch', and one of the most photographed women in the world, PAMELA ANDERSON will be playing the role of the Genie of the Lamp for two weeks only. Bringing a whole new take on the same role will be comedian and chat show host king PAUL O'GRADY who will be playing the role in the New Year, in a triumphant return to Pantoland having not appeared in one since 2005.
And now RUBY WAX is also joining the show! Ruby says: "I again am playing Pamela Anderson's body double. She is only doing two weeks, but since we are indistinguishable I have said OK I'll do her for another week. I am almost sick with excitement as I have such hidden talents that I believe will be displayed in their full glory at New Wimbledon Theatre."
In a change to usual tradition, and in what New Wimbledon Theatre believes to be a first in Pantomime history, the role of the Genie of the Lamp will be played by celebrity guest stars. They will be supported by a core cast which is headed by renowned actor, author and adventurer BRIAN BLESSED who will be doing all he can to stop their magical intentions by playing the evil Abanazar - the ultimate villain determined to outsmart our hero.
Paul O'Grady said: "I am really excited to be back in panto this year having not done one for some time. This is also the first time I'll be playing a goodie as I've been the villain in most of my other stage roles. Having made a living frightening children it's probably time I aired my softer side. If I can find one in time".
With more exciting casting announcements to come, New Wimbledon Theatre's reputation as the Home of London Pantomime is guaranteed with the perfect mix of glittering cast, spectacular set designs, colourful costumes and the finest festive entertainment this side of Peking.
Panto producers First Family Entertainment have also secured Robinsons as a sponsor for the very first time. The nation's favourite family soft drink is supporting a national celebration of pantomime up and down the country and is delighted to be part of bringing the magic of Aladdin to the New Wimbledon stage.
This will undoubtedly be the must-see pantomime of the year, so make your families' wishes come true and book your tickets for Aladdin at New Wimbledon Theatre this Christmas.
