I went to my second Europe 2 Dorset Meeting this morning in Poole and although a smaller turnout than hoped for, it was a very constructive and productive meeting. The aim of the group is to bring more visitors and tourists to our wonderful county of Dorset.
Many tourists believe that when they visit the UK, London is the only place to go and Europe 2 Dorset want to change all that.
Although the group has only been active for a few short months, plans are progressing rapidly and they have already had a very successful visit with German journalists who experienced our Dorset hospitality including excursions to Weymouth & Portland, Sherborne, Poole and Bournemouth. They were very impressed and did not know what a beautiful landscape Dorset has to offer. They then returned home ready to write a number of articles in Germany to tempt future visitors.
Discussions at todays meeting looked at possibly joining with other groups with similar aims so as not to reinvent the wheel and to become one strong group working together.
