Welcome to Charity Support

Please sponsor Chris and Clive of Charity Support as they raise funds for Age Concern (Weymouth and Portland), Help for Heroes and St Christopher’s Hospice.

Charity Support is a charitable organisation, the brainchild of Army Warrant Officers, Chris Smart and Clive Towell.  Charity Support came about by wanting to do something which changes lives.

Chris and Clive launched Charity Support in Weymouth in 2007 with the aim to support a number of charities by taking part in events such as the London Marathon and the Great North Run to name but a few.  All funds raised by sponsorship, donations and fund raising will support local charities in Weymouth and Portland plus other charities close to their heart as well as lesser known charities where more than ever, every penny counts.

Charity Support’s first chosen charities are – Age Concern (Weymouth), Help for Heroes and St Christopher’s Hospice in London - all of whom rely on charitable donations for the care that they provide.

If you would like to go straight to the donations pages now, please scroll down and follow the links.  Alternatively please read on to find out more about the charities - thank you.

Help for Heroes is a new charitable organisation launched in October 2007 to support our wounded service men and women and their families.  We all see the news and read the headlines of those wounded in Iraq and Afghanistan - many have long battles towards rehabilitation and with rebuilding their lives.  Donations and money raised will help in providing facilities for Headley Court, the tri service rehabilitation centre at Leatherhead and Selly Oak Hospital in Birmingham.  Clive of Charity Support is a regular visitor to the hospitals and looks forward to helping them gain the care facilities which today are beyond their means.

Age Concern in Weymouth is a charitable organisation promoting the well-being of older people to help make later life a fulfilling and enjoyable experience.  Based at Pilgrim House in Hope Square in Weymouth, Age Concern offer endless support and information for older people and their families, as well as classes, social gatherings, lunches and the brand new internet café!

St Christopher’s Hospice is a charitable organisation founded in 1967, caring for around 2,000 patients each year.  Many of whom have cancer,  motor neurone disease, severe heart failure or chest disease.   The Hospice is considered a centre for innovation and needs £12 million per year to maintain their levels of service.

Chris and Clive at Charity Support are looking for your support, donations and sponsorship in raising funds for these marvellous and worthy charities.

They are currently training for their first three events taking place next year – The London Marathon and The Great North Run.  Plus, specifically for Help for Heroes, The Big Battlefield Bike Ride – a 300 mile bike ride taking in the beaches of Normandy and the London Cenotaph.
