The Taste of Somerset is being organised by the Hutton Horticultural Society and the Hutton Parish Council. From 11.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. a marquee on St. Mary’s Field will showcase over three dozen producers of food and drink, crafts and organisations that make Somerset a special place to live. The R.N.L.I will display a rescue lifeboat. John Penrose, the Member of Parliament for Weston-super-Mare, will officially open the day’s festivities at 12 noon.
ENTRY IS FREE, and visitors will receive a free copy of the Somerset Life magazine on arrival. There will be activities for children, a licensed bar, and opportunities to sample and buy superb and unique Somerset food and drink.
Celebrations will continue from 7.30 p.m. to ll.00 p.m. in the evening – still with FREE ENTRY - with a pig roast, Morris Men, a licensed bar, music and dancing and a charity auction with celebrity items up for grabs from Lewis Hamilton, Acker Bilk, Boris Johnson, Noel Edmunds and the Somerset Cricket Team. Proceeds from the auction, and donations from exhibitors in the Taste of Somerset, will go to the Children’s Hospice South West at Wraxall, and the Weston branch of the R.N.L.I.
