We went for a meal at Jaan last night and were blown away, the food was very very good, we have been in America for 3 years and were really missing a good curry, we have been to a different indian restaurant a couple of times since we came back and the food there was good, but this was so much better. I had one of the speciality dishes and it was really good, it was very tasty and not overly spicy, iʼm sorry i donʼt remember the name of the dish, i know it started with H and had a corriander, parsley and lime sauce, which was as i said very tasty, it surprised me when i saw that the chicken was green, but that was just from them marinading it. The chicken was very tender and the breast.
The pickles tray that comes with the poppadoms was very good, you got, chilli sauce, mint yogurt sauce( the best iʼve ever tasted), mango chutney, lime pickle and an onion, cucumber and tomato salad.
The nan bread were perfectly cooked. I had mushroom rice which had loads of mushrooms in it.
We had 4 poppadoms and the pickle tray, 2 mains, 2 sides, 2 rice, 1 nan and 2 pints of kingfisher and it call came to under £40 with tip, which was well deserved as the service was excellent, oh they also gave us a complimentary drink at the end of the meal, which i think was tia maria, baileys and cream in a shot glass and that was very yummy!!!! This is definately going to be our local indian.
