The first Linlithgow Book Festival will be held on Saturday 16th September 2006 at The Masonic Hall, Linlithgow Cross.
Tam Dalyell will open a packed programme of events at 11.00am. The day will feature talks by a range of authors including Alan Massie on "Writing History and Historical Novels" , and Iain Banks reading from his new novel "Matter" to be published in 2007.
The aim of the Festival is to draw a range of writers to Linlithgow to discuss their work in a relaxed local setting and to encourage and support local writers.
A bar will be open for refreshments during the breaks.
