At the recent bestof Celebration Ball, (celebrating the most loved businesses in the UK - Mortons being the most loved Health and Fitness Club!) and after a few beers, Alan Andrews from Mortons challenged me..... to loose at least 2 stone in 3 months with the Mortons personal training  Never one to turn down a challenge....but currently leading an unhealthy lifestyle, unable to find time to go to the gym regularly, often eating on the go...here is the first of my blogs - my journey to be at least 2 stone lighter, healthier, fitter, and more energised - under the influence of Alan Andrews!

So here goes......

1st Session - 20th May

Experience: First workout which was more of an introduction to the gym equipment and a weigh in. Could I really be 17stone 13lbs!

The Air Machines are great to use as the ‘weight’ adjustments are done through foot or thumb buttons. Whilst Allan kept the weights light, I realised how inflexible I had become!  Bicep curls with dumbbells were the hardest!

Results/the next day: Wow I certainly felt like I had worked out the day before.  Stiff arms only got worse by day two, Sunday.  I must be very unfit?

I have been on the ‘eating plan’ over the weekend and the cravings are strong! Bit of a headache, maybe dehydrated

2nd Session - 23rd May

Experience: Second workout was hard!  I felt so stiff before I even started, how was I going to manage the same exercises?  Allan showed no mercy, just reassured me I would have to work the stiffness out?!

Results/the next day:  I am not sure why, but I feel better for the workout yesterday, my stiff muscles have eased.

3rd Session - 25th May

Experience:  Upper body/Walked off on Treadmill

Results/the next day:  Had a cooked breakfast again, what was I thinking!  The reality of doing lots of Networking and having meetings is access to a never ending supply of fatty food.

4th Session - 27th May

Experience:  Legs/Fast walk on Treadmill

Results/the next day:  No weight change,  however my body fat is down      -1.5% leaving me feeling a bit de-motivated. How could I have worked so hard for no change?

5th Session: 31st May - Upper body

6th Session:  1st June - Legs, & did some running

7th Session:  3rd June

Experience: Really hot day. Upper Body Interval running and walking.

Results/the next day: 2nd weigh in!  Have lost 4Lbs and 4% of my body fat!!  The sense of achievement was fantastic.

8th Session:  6th June

Experience:  Good leg workout ending with a hard run on the treadmill.  I really enjoyed the workout and felt myself rising to the challenge!

Results/the next day: Feeling far more confident and ‘clean’
