House in need of TLC now the children have gone back to school?

The children are probably grumbling all the way to the school gates right now. After six long, pretty hot and sunny weeks, they are now having to get their heads around spelling tests, fractions, geography and more.

But for the majority of us parents, we are still celebrating. Yes, it's lovely to have the little delights at home for a few days. But six weeks? SIX WEEKS? Really? What idiot came up with that idea? More than likely someone in the pharmaceutical industry, as there were quite a few moments in August when I thought the only way I could get through the day was with the help of some rather strong medication.

I'm not the only one am I?

And then of course, there's my poor house. Now, I don't profess to have the most pristine home in the world. It could always do with another vacuum. There are corners that don't see a duster for months. And yes, I have one of those drawers that house everything that doesn't actually have a home – batteries, bulbs, envelopes, blu-tack...

However, every summer, my nice, pretty clean house turns into a tip. An ear-splitting, 'help me, I'm losing my mind' tip. Toys in every room, chips taken out of the paintwork and door frames from buggies, bikes and scooters. What looks suspiciously like pen on the walls in the youngest's bedroom. And what is definitely pen all over the sofa and scratches on coffee table.

It's time to call Furniture Medic Watford & Hemel Hempstead!

My first thought was 'how are we going to afford to replace all this furniture? After all, I have scrubbed the sofa to no avail. And the coffee table looks like it's been in a losing battle with a cat.

Bathroom or kitchen looking like a bomb's hit it?
