Warwick Beer Festival Is a Success

The very first Warwick Lions Beer Festival was held this weekend to a great response. Apparently it went so well that it ran out of beer shortly before the end! So well done to Warwick Lions for launching this new event which will hopefully become another treasured event in Warwick's calendar.  The efforts of the Lions resulted in an profit expected to be around £4400 for two local charities Myton Hamlet Hospice and Warwickshire Air Ambulance (exact figure TBC).

Whilst there was rain on the Friday, crowds enjoyed great weather and views of Warwick Racecourse & Town on the Saturday.  The event was held at Warwick Racecourse by Warwick Lions and supported local brewers by featuring only Real Ales & Beers from Warwickshire brewers, inlcuding The Warwickshire Beer Company, Church End, Purtity Ales & Slaughterhouse Brewery.  Attendees got a commerative glass included in the entry price of £5.  Entertainment included music from The Pandemonium Steel Orchestra.  Here are a couple of photographs from Warwick Lions Beer Festival 2009 courtesy of Warwick Lions.
