The Rotary Club of Warwick share the aims of the Rotary Clubs and Associations worldwide, aiming to serve the community both nationally and locally.
Rotary Club of Warwick - serving the local and international community
Warwick Rotary Club is part of Rotary International which consists of 1.2 million members across 32,000 rotary clubs and associations worldwide. The core aim is to serve the community on a local and international scale through educational and humanitarian support. Around 40 members, both male and female, make up Rotary Club of Warwick, currently led by the first ever female president Keith Hinton.
Rotary Club of Warwick is not only responsible for raising money for great causes, but also organising some of Warwick's most treasured events. A few of the events Warwick Rotary Club organise throughout the year include:
- Annual Pancake Race in Warwick Town
- Warwick's Victorian Evening
- Annual Thai Festival in Warwick
- Warwick Town Tree of Light Festival
- Christmas Carols at Warwick Castle
- Stroke Awareness Day in Warwick
- Car Boot Sales in Warwick
A collective aim of Rotary Clubs and Associations worldwide has been the eradication of Polio internationally. The Rotary Club of Warwick also focuses on local needs and issues; for 2008, Rotary Club of Warwick, is aiming to raise much needed money for McMillan Nurses and the new Children's Unit at Warwick Hospital.
Rotary Club of Warwick is part of Rotary District 1060 for the heart of England, which is made up of 69 Rotary Clubs and Associations across parts of the West Midlands, Birmingham, Warwickshire and Staffordshire. Closer to Warwick affiliate Rotary Clubs and associations include Kenilworth, Leamington Spa, Royal Leamington Spa, Southam and Warwick Avon.
How to get involved with Rotary Club of Warwick:
Rotary Club of Warwick welcome new members. Meetings are held every Wednesday at the Glebe Hotel, Theatre Street, Warwick at 12.45pm. An evening meeting takes place on the 5th Wednesday of each month which includes the Wives/Partners of The Warwick Rotarians.
