It's been 3 years since I started Vicky's class. Her class is always attractive with perfect balance. Not only for the beginners but also for the experts. Not only exercising & challenging but also relaxing & meditating. Not only maintaining the value of the basics but also trying something new. Vicky is a great teacher who is enthusiastic, dynamic and inspires all of us with her warm and humorous encouragement.
I've practiced yoga with Vicky for the last 6 years. Her expertise, enthusiasm and impish playfulness are inspirational. She devises sequences and studies which are unique and flow easily with her careful composition and guidance. I notice how my practice improves and find that her approach to some more demanding postures are scaffolded so that whereas in the past I might have struggled, that there seems to be some magic spell cast and I struggle far less and achieve more in the pose. The atmosphere Vicky creates in classes is warm, welcoming and nurturing. Pregnancy yoga prepared me (and my baby boy bump) for the deep relaxation, inner strength, trust and stamina that I drew upon in our joyous home water birth. Mums I met there remain close friends. Equally I love her Yoga days and Masterclasses. I once joined in one of Vicky's children’s yoga sessions where all ages stretched, balanced and fully enjoyed their journey through poses linked by an enchanting storyline. Laughter, resonant chanting and beautifully chosen "thoughts for the day" are ingredients that inspire beyond the sessions too. I can't recommend Vicky highly enough!xxx
We love Vicky. She loves Yoga and makes you love it too. She is spiritual but has a wicked sense of humour too.She has seen me through yoga during pregnancy, post natally and pulled me out of a a terrible bout of depression. I don't know what she does or how she does it but I feel totally exhilirated after a session with her - be it in a group or on a one to one.Yoga with her is addictive and I just wish she could spread herslelf more thinly to take what she does so brilliantly to more.
I am a bloke and have been going to Vicky’s yoga classes for well over a year. This lovely, friendly and bubbly lady creates an atmosphere of calm and acceptance where, no matter your level of competence, you feel comfortable attempting all the yoga poses. I love Whyoga because you leave your troubles at the door and for a blissful hour and a half you escape the frenetic pace of London life and spend some time on your physical and spiritual self.
I highly recommend anyone giving whYoga a go. I originally started due to a back injury from rugby, but it has now become part of my fitness routine. Vicky has got a great sense of humour, the classes are suited to people of varying levels of bendiness. I come out of her classes, feeling completely relaxed and invigorated at the same time!
whYoga and Vicky have been a godsend to me. Vicky's knowledge of the postures and how they benefit individual parts of the body has meant that I have finally found something safe that I can do weekly, without exacerbating my injuries. Her classes are inventive, challenging and imbued with humour. I always have a remarkable good night's sleep after my weekly Earlsfield yoga class. I have also noticed just how many of her other students return again and again.Testament to her ability as a teacher.
I have been going to Vicky's yoga classes for 10 years and in all that time the classes have always been varied and challenging. As well as Vicky's yoga classes I have also really enjoyed her yoga holidays, yoga days and her two hour master classes. Not only is Vicky a brilliant yoga teacher she is also an inspiration spiritually.
Vicky's business is more of a 'gift' to people as opposed to just a profit making machine. Vicky so clearly has a love and appreciation of people and wants to share everything she knows to enable others to experience a certain level of calm and relaxation in their lives. If more businesses were like Vicky's - where people work for the benefit others, the world would be a much kinder and more content place to be ;-)
I have been going to Vicky's yoga classes for ten years and in all that time the classes have always been varied and challenging. As well as Vicky's yoga classes I have also really enjoyed her yoga holidays, her yoga days and her intensive two hour master classes. Vicky is not only a brilliant yoga teacher she is also an inspiration spiritually!
I've signed up for the Yoga for Pregnancy course back in December just as a tester. I never thought I'd enjoy it so much! Vicky is super calm and her exercises leave me and my baby very relaxed indeed. I look forward to my Yoga sessions every Wednesday and I'll be booking myself into the next 8 week course!
Vicky is the most inspired and inspiring yoga teacher. Her classes are both invigorating and relaxing and, best of all, fun. However tired I am to start with, when I come out of the class I feel so much better. She's brilliant.
Vicky Oliver, founder and heart of whYoga, is absolutely fantastic! She embodies all that yoga should be with an understanding heart and generous spirit. She's professional, inclusive, dedicated to her business and the local community, and marvellously warm-hearted. I had the pleasure of participating in a children's yoga teacher training with Vicky and it was hands-down the most enjoyable, informative, and thorough three day workshop I could have ever imagined.
Vicky's yoga is the best in the area - she is a creative teacher while remaining accessible and easy to understand. Her practice is always refreshing and she puts a lot of energy into her lesson plans. She is an expert in pre- and post- natal exercise and was a wonderful pre-birth coach before I had my first child.
Thanks Vicky - the effects of your yoga classes are mind blowing, since joining three years ago I now sleep though the night - hurrah.... feel younger and calmer and always look forward to the class
I love whYoga! Vicky is the best yoga teacher I have had and now I am pregnant I look forward her antenatal yoga classes each week. I come out of each session feeling relaxed and energised and would recommend whYoga to anyone looking for a caring, fun and inspirational teacher.
I have known Vicky Oliver, the founder of whYoga for 10 years and have been a devotee since then. I have tried other classes but nobody delivers the way she does. Her classes are inspirational, varied and stimulating. I always feel better afterwards. If you are new to yoga or a committed yogi she has something for you. Her approach is fresh and enthusiastic. I thank my lucky stars I found her.Rebecca R
The atmosphere and harmony that Vicky creates makes me wish I could go to her classes every day. She is down to earth and funny with an infectious personality and a wonderful ability to make the most complicated of contortions seem easy! I'm so pleased I took the decision to take up yoga and even more pleased that completely by chance my friend and I chose Vicky's classes.
Vicky's pregnancy yoga is second to none as she provides challenge and celebrates the strength that is latent in a pregnant woman's body but also gives time for rest and repose - the perfect combination.
Vickie is in a class of her own, exactly the right mix of serious yoga and gentleness. I have felt entirely comfortable from day one and having joined several yoga classes in the past, this is the first time ever, that I have wanted to continue. The class I attend is of mixed ability but Vickie let's everyone move at their own pace and has an amazing ability to remember each of our individual capabilities. Can't recommend her highly enough.
I've been suffering from post natal depression, but no matter how bad I feel, I always feel brighter after a session with Vicky.
I find it really therapeutic - my one chance during the week to escape the highs and lows of motherhood and spend some quiet me time.
With Vicky there is a nice mixture of yogic hippy harmony and a good dose of fun.
Vicky is an inspirational teacher, importantly with a great sense of humour, and targets her teaching towards the individual. Great atmosphere and a very varied programme.
I have done yoga with Vicky for 9 years. She is an amazing teacher with a loyal following, encouraging you to push yourself to the limit but never too far. Every class is unique focusing on a different theme each week so boredom never sets in.
I would highly recommend Vicky, she's fun and an excellent yoga teacher. After one of her classes you'll feel relaxed and rejunivated - guaranteed!
Vicky's yoga classes are amazing - you feel welcome from the start and the class caters to all levels of ability and fitness. They are both challenging and fun, and have enhanced my quality of life a hundred fold. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them!
Vickie is a great teacher and makes everyone, whatever their ability feel very welcome. Over the years I have attended other yoga classes and Vickie's is by far the best.
What I love about Vicky is that she adds a human element to my understanding of yoga. She is funny and undoubtedly talented but it is her ability to connect with her students on a compassionate level that really raises her above the crowd. Everything she creates has a lot of thought behind it and she continually surprises her students with her inventiveness. A natural born teacher.
Vicky is an inspiring teacher, with a great sense of humour. Really enjoyed the yoga retreat she organised last year in Italy.
Vicky is a simply fantastic yoga teacher and I love going to her classes. I really can't stress that enough. Before I met Vicky I had tried out yoga a few times with a couple of different teachers. That experience was fine but certainly nothing special and I wasn't that bothered about doing yoga again. Then a friend of mind told me about Vicky, said what a great teacher she was and that I should go along and try it. Well, I loved it from day one! And I have been going twice a week for five years. It is not just Vicky's clear and calm instruction that I look forward to but the whole yoga experience she creates with her classes. I love the meditation section at the end. I can not speak highly enough of Vicky she is the most lovely person and a fantastic, fantastic teacher. Just go to her lessons and you will know what I am talking about.
I absolutely love my weekly yoga class with Vicky.I've had yoga teachers before and Vicky is unquestionably the best and I only wish I could have the benefit of her skill, expertise, wisdom and humour for a yoga session every day.
I've been going to whYoga's pregnancy yoga course in Balham for the past three months. Vicky is a friendly teacher, the classes feel like a real workout but still allow for relaxation and some great "me time". Even though it's a popular class, with quite a few people, she still manages to give everyone individual attention and making sure you are doing things correctly.
I've been practicing yoga with Vicky for years and every single class is uplifting, nurturing, instructive and fun! If I miss a class, my week is just not the same. From the full yoga days and masterclasses to the pregnancy classes, Vicky accomplishes them all with a wealth of experience and a lovely big smile.
Vicky has taught me yoga for the past 10 years and she really is an exceptional teacher, I have tried others but I always end up coming back to Vicky. She really knows her stuff and you always leave her classes relaxed and uplifted. She gets my vote!
Vicky is a great yoga teacher who always has time and energy for everyone - although she is very thorough in her teachings she still manages to make each experience enjoyable and fun - by keeping the sessions fresh and always enthusiastic.
I have been doing yoga with Vicky for 10 years and can't recommend her teaching highly enough. Every class challenges, invigorates and relaxes your body and mind - I don't know how she manages to do this all at once! I have also done pre-natal yoga with Vicky and felt totally safe in her hands while at the same time still stretching the parts of my body that were physically possible to stretch!
Vicky’s Yoga classes are the best! They are very professional, and thanks to Vicky’s unique warm and caring style of teaching, you just feel a sense of achievement whatever your body limitations may be. I wish I could attend her classes more often than once a week. I can also highly recommend Vicky’s Yoga Days. They are extremely enjoyable and throughout these days not only you feel you are in ‘good hands’ but also end up amazingly energised.
Vicky's yoga classes are a perfect mix of stretching, meditation, relaxation and exercise. I have been attending her classes for over 3 years which has included two pregnancies and I come away feeling relaxed but as though I've had a good workout too. It's ideal.
Vicky runs a fantastic yoga class in Balham. She manages to deliver the perfect balance of a challenging class, whatever your level, which is invigorating and spiritual but funny and a little irreverent too. This combination means that even as a newcomer or complete beginner you are quickly at ease in the class but start see the mental and physical benefits straight away. I would recommend vicky very highly both to beginners and those with more experience.
whYoga classes, thanks to the teaching talents enthusiam and kindness of Vicky Oliver, are a wonderful balance of being physically energizing, mentally relaxing and always highly animated.Margaret W
I started yoga lessons with Vicky nearly 10 years ago, and having sampled many other teacher's styles in that time none has come close to the feeling you get from one of Vicky's classes. You emerge energised, joyful, happy and full of purpose. I would say that Vicky's classes and masterclasses (I have yet to attend a retreat) are truly good for the mind, body and soul. Vicky's approach is truly unique, in bringing fun and bags of personality to her classes, no other yoga class can comes close! Sadly, I am not currently living near enough to Wandsworth to continue this weekly addictive delight....but I will be back for more one day soon.Lucy P
Vicky is a dynamic, funny and engaging personality and her class reflects this. Her ability to narrate each yoga pose, step by step is an invaluable aid while her engaging and personal style makes everyone feel that she is a friend. She also does not neglect the spiritual aspect of yoga but uses it as a tool to bring positive energy and thoughtful comment to our lives. I highly recommend her yoga class.
Coupled with Vicky's proven expertise in the Yoga world and her unique sense of fun and adventure, Whyoga sessions not only provide a great fluid workout but are amazingly good for the soul!
Combining her proven expertise in the Yoga world with a unique sense of fun in her delivery, Vicky's classes are and not only a fantastic workout but also great for the soul. Highly recommended, I just wish I could attend more frequently!
I have never met a more inspirational or knowledgeable yoga teacher - and I have been practising yoga for over a decade. Vicky is a truly talented teacher who has the ability to make her classes challenging yet accessible. Each week she brings something new into the class with her carefully thought out routines accompanied by considered comments. Her gift is to create a sense of occasion and I guarantee you will leave feeling deeply stretched and deeply contented!
I have been doing yoga with whyoga for over a year. The classes are physically energizing, mentally relaxing and thanks to the wonderful enthusiasm and wit of Vicky Oliver always very animated. Margaret February 2010
Vicky teaches Yoga. So far she is the best yoga teacher I have had. Even though I have not been to a class recently as I have moved away from the area, I would not hesitate to recommend her classes to anyone. In fact I have not been able to find a teacher like Vicky. She puts in a lot of thought into each class, runs a few themed masterclasses a year and a couple of retreats which are the best. Go Vicky!
Vicky is a fantastic teacher and the weekly yoga classes are relaxing and invigorating. She is encouraging, patient and amusing! If you've never tried yoga and are thining of giving it a go then I cant recomend Vicky enough.
For the last five years I have had the privilege of a weekly yoga session and the occasional Saturday Yoga day with Vicky. She is not only an excellent practitioner and teacher but her classes are fun as well as rewarding. I hope to have many many more years with her and I would recommend her to anyone.
Fantastic yoga classes! The best part about it is Vicky herself. There is no-one like Vicky.
