I've just read from a feed that we get from Wandsworth council that plans have just been approved to build a new 90 room hotel in Balham. That's got to be a good thing surely?
The site of the build at 177 Balham High Road is a disused office building so I think that it's a really positive move to build onto vacant office space too, no existing businesses are being bought out to make room for this project, the owners must see potential in the area to choose Balham for the hotel location which means it will bring loads of jobs to the area and hopefully more local business to an up and coming area. Can anyone see any downsides apart from the obvious disruption whilst the building goes up??
