The Waltham Forest Stop Smoking Service – Providing help and support to residents of the London Borough of Waltham Forest including Chingford, Walthamstow, Leytonstone and Leyton.
Stopping smoking has never been easier! You still need a lot of willpower, but we provide one to one support and a range of treatments to help you succeed in stopping for good.
If you want to quite smoking and begin a healthier lifestyle, the Waltham Forest Stop Smoking Service can help. We are run by the Waltham Forest Primary Care Trust and offer guidance and support to help you quit smoking.
You may already have heard of Champix ® (Varenicline). Champix is the first drug developed specifically to assist people in stopping smoking. It was recently approved in the UK by the National Institute for Clinical Excellence, and is recommended as an effective treatment to the NHS. Champix ® has good success rates and very few reported side-effects.
We also provide a full range of nicotine replacement products within weekly Drop-in to Quit clinics in your local community.
As well as our drop-in clinics, the service is also delivered within many local pharmacies and GP practices throughout the Borough. Phone the Stop Smoking Service to find out where your nearest Specialist Advisor is based.
The Stop Smoking Service is delivered by a committed and enthusiastic team of local health workers who have been trained to provide the specialist support that you need. Our Advisors can speak a range of community languages including Gujerati, Punjabi, Hindi, Urdu, Ghanaian, Tamil, Spanish and Akar.
If you smoke and would like to stop, simply drop-in to one of the following weekly sessions for free advice and products. Appointments last approximately 20 - 30 minutes.
