Walsall Pensioners Convention are a group of pensioners promoting and campaigning for the welfare and interests of pensioners living in or near the borough of Walsall.

Through membership of the National Pensioners Convention we carry our campaigns to the national stage.

We meet at 10.30 on the 1St Friday of the month in the Community Centre Burrowes Street Walsall WS2 8NN. Tea coffee and biscuits are available and it has access for disabled people. Recent Speakers at our recent meetings have included Dr Gill about the impact of changes in the local National Health Service and representatives from Age UK about Elder abuse and dementia care services.

Our meetings are welcoming, warm and informative. It is never too late to make new friends and ideas and opinions are always welcome.

We organise regular outings recent trips have included Bury Market and the Spalding Flower Festival.  Next week a coach full will be travelling to Blackpool for the National Pensioners Convention. In the future we are planning a day trip to Llandudno and a short break in London. We have stalls at local carnivals and attend rallies that support causes of importance. to pensioners

We also hold a ladies get together on the last Friday of the month between 10.30 and 12.30 at the Central Hall Ablewell Street where we have talks demonstrations and information sharing. The ladies enjoy a regular monthly meal at various venues around the Walsall area.

 

Our membership is around 100 at present but new members are always welcome. Membership costs £5 a year.
