Spoke in the Lamp- 19th July 2023 with Dawn Jutton
12th July 2023
... Comments

We’re coming to you a tad early this month, and not the last Wednesday!
This isn’t due to any astrological misalignment (although Venus does look rather splendid in the sky at dusk this week), but no, it is purely due to availability of our superb venue, The Lamp theatre space in Brownhills Community Centre. I’m hoping you’ll be among the tremendous supporters of Spoke, whether or not you bring friends, relatives or you own poetic writings to share.

Spoken word spots are here for any writer who wishes to share up to five minutes worth of their work to our friendly audience
(And audiences are especially welcome.)
You can simply turn up, but PLEASE do email or Facebook-message for a spoken word slot, to spoke@albarz.uk so we can keep tabs on numbers.

Blimey! Our headliner this month is none other than Dawn Jutton!

THEME: (if you need a theme) Difference

HEADLINER: Dawn Jutton

Dawn Jutton is the current Staffordshire Poet Laureate, a role to which she brings over forty years as a creative professional that has evolved into a dual practice of fine art and poetry.  The influence of the rich and varied landscapes of the Midlands shines through in both her writing and images but Dawn also digs deep into her memories of growing up as a forces’ child, ageing and the challenges that occur when coming out later in life.
