Saddlers Progress in JPT

Walsall reached the area semi final of the JPT against Sheffield United  thanks to a near post header from Romaine Sawyers in the second half of a good cup tie which may have been slow going in the first half but certainly came to life in the second half. With the game being shown live on SKY the attendance was always going to be low and indeed just over 2,000 turned up but those who did would have enjoyed the play making by Saddlers at times.

The first half only saw a  single shot on target by both sides and the worry for Walsall was that leading goalscorer Tom Bradshaw had to be replaced during the interval duo to hamstring trouble. Mathieu Manset coming on as sub showed his worth to the side with a good contribution and may easily have a couple of goals himself. So Walsall fans are dreaming of a Wembley final next year but there is a long way off before that exciting prospect occurs...but the dream is still there to cling on to.
