Be careful what you promise your partner before they move in - legal advice in Walsall

The Court of Appeal has recently awarded a woman a £28,500 share in a property purchased in her partners sole name and paid for by him

The Court made the decision because the man had assured the woman that if she moved in, she would enjoy the same sort of security as a wife would have.

The Court found she had relied upon the assurance and given up her secured tenancy in a Housing association property.

In the circumstances, the Court found it would be unconscionable for the man to go back on his promise.
