I regularly visit The Vine in West Bromwich and since the refurbishment last year, I love being able to watch the food being cooked on the barbeque. The curries are absolutely delicious and there's such a huge choice. The service is quick and there's always a lovely friendly atmosphere. Great place to go with friends or in a group. Highly recommend it.

The Vine Indian restaurant looks nothing special from the outside, but once through the door a ever expanding interior meets your eyes. Though far from posh, more working men's club in appearance which is the way I like it, the food and welcoming staff help make your visit one to remember. A choice of grilled food from the indoor charcoal BBQ or a regular curry selected from the large menu that covers one of the walls of the bar, you will be spoiled for choice. We visited The Vine on a one night stay in the local premier inn on route to Birmingham Airport and enjoyed it so much we plan to return next time we fly from Birmingham.

First timers to the vine tonight went with friends who live in west brom. We opted for a selection of Indian food the BBQ which was really great please beware the masala fries (v hot ) lovely but v hot .
We had the tikka the sheesh kebab the chips and what is described as the bullet naan lathered with green chillies, v nice and surprisingly not as spicy as the chia ( forget the plain Naan, treat yourself . Boing boing
Next time I will venture to the boards in the other room to try one of the vines many curries.
You need to try this place at least once

This place is totally unexpected. Old worldly pub in front, but a really authentic indian restaurant and barbecue at the back. the dishes are really good. Have been twice already, one for an alternative xmas dinner. great fun!

This place is amazing, it looks tatty from the outside but the service and food are really good. Such excellent value for money. The choice is great (providing you like Indian food of course). We love this place and try to visit when ever we are over that way. Happy to recommend

I am a big fan of The Vine even though it has been a little while since my last visit.
The place is hidden away in a sort of quasi residential/industrial area, and West Bromwich is no paradise... But walk through the doors, get a pint and head for the BBQ area. It is very much east meets west and the food/atmosphere is great. I wish there was a pub and curry house combination like this in every town.

I am a regular customer at the vine along with many members of my family. Not only is there a friendly welcoming and relaxed atmosphere but the food is by far the best ive ever had and the price is amazing too! My husband and I would rather travel for a meal at the vine than have a takeaway and we feel much more satisfied. The service is quick and efficient and I would highly recommend this to anyone, its a must!!!

This is really a little gem, the curries are really good quality and full of flavour! My Chicken Balti had more chicken than i have ever known in any restaurant before. The egg fried rice is different but all the same very nice. The high light of the trip was the cheese and garlic naan, the best i have ever tasted, fresh tasty and very large!!

I have frequented this eating establishment numerous times over the last couple of months. The food has always been fantastic and the BBQ chefs always raise a smile with their dry wit. This really is a hidden gem.
However, the experience at the bar has been mixed. If it wasn't for the fantastic hospitality I have received previously tonight's experience would have been ruined. It seems a place with such charm could have such a dour, scruffy, cantankerous bar man. I know this individual isn't representative and hope it was an off day as he has been rude on more than one occasion.

I just ate here on my tod tonight after reading some reviews on Tripadvisor and I have to say that this is one of the best places I think I have eaten at. The pub looks a bit shabby from the outside but do not let this deceive you, it's a FANTASTIC eating place. The staff are friendly and chilled out, the feel of the place is everyday indulgence and I cannot reinforce just how nice the food is here.
Forget any preconceptions when you get here - Park your car, walk in and enjoy this top class food place.

Been going here near enough weekly now either eating in or driving 24 mile round trip for a take away and iv never had a bad meal. Even took my 85 year old nan who obviously order scampi and chips who said that this was one of the nicest pub meals she's ever had. My 2 year old even loves a bit of nan dipped in a bit of the curry sauces. Staff are always polite and make a fuss of my son and price is always reasonable don't be put off by a shady looking exterior this is a real gem of a place

We use The Vine when we are visting West Bromwich Albion with our team, Stoke City. Always a warm welcome, good beer, great food and a fantastic mix of home and away supporters. No wonder the place is always packed out when we go there. Saying that, the serrvice is still very quick. My only regret is that I have not, as yet, visited on a non match day to properly enjoy the great food on offer...maybe one day!

We've been coming to the Vine for around 8 years now, and it remains our favourite curry house.
No where else compares to their naan breads, and my husband swears he has never had a better chicken tikka masala and never will.
Now it's been refurbished, it's comfortable and always clean and you can usually always find a place to sit.
The BBQ is always really busy, but we only have starters on occasions now as it was spoiling the delicious main meals. We can recommend the chicken tikka and shish kebab.
The Vine doesn't look like much from the outside, but please don't be put off, it's a great curry house / BBQ.

we have been a couple of times recently and the first thing about it is the relaxed warm welcome we received. we could not fault this place . all are welcome ,families , to large groups. thats part of the appeal. the vine seems to thrive when busy because the food comes very quick after ordering. there is a wide range of food on offer not just indian, and the bar.b.que makes a nice addition to normal dining. the food is to a high standard, with plenty of variation in tastes and spices. also a good selection of beers and ales. an all round great meal out for a great price. thanks to the vine and staff . we will be back on a regular basis. what a great find.

We've tried a few currys in our time but can't believe we'd not come across this place. Approaching the Vine you wonder if you should turn back because it looks about as off putting as you can get. Make sure you don't. This is a curry experience like no other.
We didn't book as it was Sunday night but I'm not sure you'd need to unless you were a big party. Even walking through the front door, past the old style snug like old pub, into the extended back, we still weren't sure. But behind it there is a slick operation which tries to cater for a bit of everything ... Beer, food, large screen TVs. Let's make it easy for everyone because it took us a bit of time to work it out. Once you are in the first back room, if you want a traditional style curry experience with your starters and mains then study the blackboards in the room and order your choices at that bar with your drinks. If you opt for the BBQ experience then walk to the back of that room where you will see it in the next room. This place goes on and on and on! At the BBQ station you order and pay and wait and watch it cook, or you can order and pay and return to a table and they will bring it to you. Easy!
Well we opted for the curry meal. Starters were like any others you'll have anywhere. In fact salad and sauces were a let down and not on a par with most other restaurants. And if you order poppadums don't expect the usual fancy sauces and stuff, and they will come with your starters. Probably a schoolboy error on our part because this is not what the Vine is about. Because our main courses were exceptional. I had Chicken Tikka Sag, my partner Sag Aloo. I tried both and I have to say that they were the best Sag dishes I have experienced anywhere. The sauces and Chicken were wonderful. I always feel a good test of quality is how well they settle on the stomach afterwards and I can say these past the test easily. I so wished we had tested a bit of the BBQ as starters but I am not sad because it just gives us an excuse to return.
We paid around £40 for three of us with two rounds of drinks. Draft Cobra £3.50 a pint. All in all a must do original and quality curry experience. Don't bother with the starters and usual routine, just hit the Barbie or head for the main courses, this is what the Vine is all about. You don't need to spend hours in here to get proper great Indian food.
My baggies season ticket holder partner will probably get back to it quicker than I do!

I visited this pub before and after the game v west ham. I am a west ham supporter and I was made most welcome. Although we were beaten on the day i was not unhappy that the baggies won the game as I can revisit the vine next season. Excellent food in a friendly atmosphere. A credit to the owners/staff and supporters. See you next season.

Don't be put off from the outside, its like a tardis inside and spotlessly clean. I've been coming here for about 18 years now and always leave satisfied. The barbecue has recently been extended and the chicken tikka is the best you will find any where, really nice with their own made chilli sauce. Curries, rice, naans and massala fries are all really tasty. I had lamb jalfrezi and the meat just melted in your mouth, my wife had chicken tikka madras and that was also excellent. Seriously though if you find fault with the food here theres something seriously wrong with you as its simpy the best. I would also suggest trying suky's, its owned by the same family so food is excellent but more contemporary restaurant. Just a matter of time before we return !

I must admit, I am massive fan of the Vine. When my parents first took me here a few years ago, I loved the back room with the concrete floor and the amazing bbq, as it felt like a real hidden gem. Now its refurbished, its looking great and I think that the Vine has got a winning combination of food, charm and prices. To be honest, I have never tried the curry, as I am obsessed with the bbq. The chicken wings are the best I have ever had, and a friend who had lived in the USA said that they were better than most of the wing houses in the south he had eaten in. I have read some reviews where people have moaned about the guys on the bbq not being overly friendly. This is utter tosh and part of the charm! Trying to get a smile out of the old boy on the bbq is my favourite game and usually I succeed! The bar staff and the waitresses are great and they always accommodate you regardless of your party size. Overall, what I love about the Vine is the buzz of the place, with people of all ages having a laugh and eating great food. Keep up the great work guys and I will continue to bring all my friends from around the globe to chomp on your wings and ribs!

Let's get the bad bit over with first. The Vine is no looker from the outside, it's not in the best area and it looks like an old rundown pub but we had heard how good the food was so ventured in anyway. Inside it couldn't be more different, it has a real traditional pub feel at the front before opening out into a large extension at the back which is far more modern but still comfortable. Me and my mate visited at lunchtime and opted for the barmaids recommendation of the mixed lunch platter, or 'one of everything' as she put it. We got a large plate with Chicken Tikka, Methi Tikka, Tawa, Shaslik, Kashmiri and Sheek Kebab, along with a pot of fiery sauce and chips. All the different meats offered something different but all were well cooked and tasted great, with that real bbq taste you'd expect. Along with the chips it was a pretty big portion that left two lads with big appetites full up. Along with 2 pints it worked out as just over £8 each, pretty much a bargain in a world of chain pubs that microwave everything.

Just got back from watching my team, Cardiff City, play at West Brom and before the match we visited the Vine. Very friendly welcome for us, good beer, good food and plenty of parking.
Would not hesitate to recommend the pub to any visiting football supporter.
