Rosies Helping Hands of Aldridge, Walsall is a charitable organisation devoted to helping to improve the quality of life of children and young adults across the Midlands
Rosies Helping Hands charitable organisation was started by Karen and Sean Ross, loving parents of Rosie Ross who died tragically in May 2001.
This Walsall charity was set up as a living legacy to their loving daughter and is devoted to helping to improve the quality of life and care for children and young people.
Rosies Charity hold many fundraising events throughout the year to raise funds. These funds are given as grants to local organisations to help care for and improve the lives or maintain projects involving children and young people up to the age of 25 years.
Examples of how some of the fundraising is used:
-
A donation from Rosies Charity went towards purchasing vital equipment for 2 West Midlands Accident and Emergency departments
-
Donations to the Institute of Cancer Studies at the University of Birmingham to enable the purchase of new specialist equipment to assist in biopsies.
-
A donation to the Walsall Children’s Bereavement Support Service went towards funding trained counsellors to help Walsall children with the loss of a family member or close friend.
-
Funds were donated to the Clayhanger Village Community TRA to help them start a desperately needed children's club and a youth club.
-
Funds were donated to Every Child Matters the fundraising community project run by a local Police Officer Alan Thompson. 5 winners from 3 Walsall schools received a trip of a lifetime to Lapland in December 2006.
