Winters here again, high winds and rain and if that's not bad enough we got frost as well, just because we've inside nice and warm spare a thought for your garden. Branches broken on the trees don't just break them off, prune right back to the nearest bud. Always cut at an angle so the water runs off you could also just take a small amount of soil and just rub over the cut area to stop any decease. If you got any tender plants if possible fetch them indoors and don't forget to water so they don't dry out. If you do have to leave outside cover with some sacking or fleece and tie up. Smaller plants cover with some straw i.e. strawberry's etc. Also don't forget your pots as they also will suffer from frost. Any plants you have on trellis tie in and secure so they don't break off but not too tight need to allow some movement. With these high winds check your fences, any broken you could do a temporary repair for the time being then renew when the weather gets better, if you try to renew posts etc. at this time of year there's a good chance the post mix or cement won't go off. Also check your shed roof make sure the felt is not ripped. Always clear the paths etc. of any leaves which could cause you or visitors to slip on. These jobs should have been done before now but there's still time to put your garden to bed. One more thing in the wet try and keep off your grass as it could cause decease. If we do get any heavy snow knock it off your hedges and bushes, as the weight could cause damage by miss shape and broken branches.
