The autumn equinox is this September on the 23rd

A point when daylight and the darkness are equal in length.

Say goodbye to summer and hello to winter.

This autumn equinox marks the journey of the northern hemisphere in to the dark half of the year.

At this point we have the opportunity to check our progress in every area of our lives, to balance our priorities.

The autumn equinox is in the west (if looking at the direction of a compass.) the direction of the sunset, and so represents the point before darkness falls, a great time to reflect on what has gone before and plan what is to come. We should use this time to examine our life’s balance and decide what we need before we entre winters long sleep. We need to focus.

Force ourselves to take stock and make plans, we need to sow the seeds if we wish to cultivate a new cycle of life.

This month is all about power, about learning, productivity and fresh starts, resolve to learn, sign up for that course you’ve been thinking about.

It’s all about balance this month, take time out to give thanks for everything you have harvested during this year. Let go of things you no longer need (time to de-cutter) and reflecting on what you hope for the future.  Take on new challenges and work towards your goals.

Use this energy to move in new directions and make a fresh start.

Many people hold a special event to welcome the equinox, so whether you are one of those or you just want to rise a glass to it, enjoy and look forward.
