Hot Spot for Home Interiors Shop

Pedestrians have had their noses pressed up against the glass windows of number 2 Prospect Terrace this week as local charity Crossroads Caring for Carers prepare to open Home Interiors and Baby World, a Charity Shop with a difference.

Since opening the first Crossroads Charity Shop on Prospect Terrace in 2008, Crossroads have expanded to open a further two shops on Victoria Street, and with each new shop opening, Crossroads have enjoyed increased footfall and sales.

Having conquered the retail market and increasing demand for and donations of larger items, Crossroads are now opening a fourth shop that will sell furniture and baby equipment.

Crossroads Home Interiors and Baby World will be an up market house and home shop with cushions, curtains, vases, pictures and will sell furniture, baby items, paintings and craft items on a commission basis as well as donations.

Crossroads’ Business Manager Karen Thomson said: “Crossroads are asking the public to choose to reuse. Since opening our first shop, we have enjoyed constant support from the public by donations of goods, donations of time and purchasing the goods and we hope to see this continue”

All items sold in the shop help Crossroads to provide more services to those on the Isle of Man with care needs, giving their Carers a well deserved break.

The money generated from donations and purchases from Crossroads Home Interiors and Baby World will go towards providing respite care breaks for the islands’ family and informal Carers and supportive services for people with care needs.

This year Crossroads have provided over 100,000 hours of care. A significant figure of funds raised that enable care hours comes from the public’s support through the charity shops.

Crossroads Home Interiors and Baby World will open to the public on Friday 29th July 2011 and will remain open Monday – Saturday 10am – 5pm.
