Strong evidence of lost civilisation found off the coast of Peel

Bookmark and Share

Evidence of a long lost civilisation has been found by an expert team of divers from Reykjavik off the coast of Peel, Isle of Man. The team insist that pictures taken with specialist underwater cameras   show what appear to be the ruins of a city that could pre-date Egypt's pyramids, which appeared after 2600BC.
Dr Snorri Sturluson who is head of the Department of marine archaeology at the University of Iceland is leading the team. He stated that ‘we are extremely excited by our discovery and believe that this is the legendary lost city of Atlantis.  The exact location of the lost city had been the subject of speculation for many years but we have found strong circumstantial evidence to believe that the city was in fact just off the west coast of the Isle of Man.
The Icelandic team would not reveal the exact location of their find in order to protect what could be the most important archaeological discovery of the century.
Now the team wants to raise funds to explore the secret location where the images were taken.

We enjoy getting out and about and meeting people and feel very much part of the local community of the Isle of Man. The people warm and friendly and the pace of life is more laid back than across - it suits us just fine!
