Isle of Man bike owners beware...

The stolen bicycles themselves are not specific and rang from high to low value; a further emerging pattern in relation to theses thefts is that a number of them have been from secure underground car parks at residential properties namely; Spectrum Apartments, Century Court Apartments and Millennium Court Apartments, all on Douglas  Promenade.

The bikes have been taken from a number of different apartment blocks but in each case the thieves have gained access through locked security gates and then managed to remove combination locks that have been used to secure the bicycles to the fabric of the building

Police are asking that people check their bikes to make sure they are secure and that the lock fitted is of sufficient quality to prevent these types of crimes form occurring. If anyone has witnessed any thefts taking place or has any information that could help police they are asked to please make contact any police station or ring Police Headquarters.

Anyone who has information about this incident should contact Police Headquarters on 631212. A reward may be payable as a result of your information.

You may also contact Isle of Man Crimestoppers on 0800 555111. Crimestoppers is an independent Manx charity established to enable callers to pass information regarding criminal activity anonymously. Crimestoppers is not an agency of the Police. Crimestoppers will never ask callers for any personal details.

We enjoy getting out and about and meeting people and feel very much part of the local community of the Isle of Man. The people warm and friendly and the pace of life is more laid back than across - it suits us just fine!
