The situation of continued disruption to the Steam Packet is very worrying for the island. The retail sector which is already hard hit and officially in recession really does not need the further worry of lack of regular freight deliveries. And disruption to food and medical supplies is of primary concern.
The weather can't be helped but the continued headache of failed bow thruster combiined with lack of back up boat are issues that surely can be addressed as a matter of national urgency.
MHK Bill Henderson has called on The Steam Packet to address the situation and provide a back up ship http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-isle-of-man-16054177.
Surely this is time to impliment the user agreement with The Steam Packet - if not now what use is it?
If this matter is not addressed it could be a very long and hard winter for Isle of Man resdients.
