The stage is set for local rock and pop bands to wow audiences and raise money for good causes at the Mayor of Tewkesbury Borough's first charity concert.

The event will take place on Saturday, 8 October at The Watson Hall, Barton Street in Tewkesbury, with the fun kicking off at 7pm.

The bands, which include Monkeyface, Funky Horse Milk,  Charlie Baxter and Stereo Influence, have all donated their time, and proceeds from ticket sales will be split the mayor's charities: Alderman Knight School, Gloucestershire Young Carers and Deerhurst Church Project, as well as Parkinsons UK.

The event, which costs only £5 per person, already looks set to attract the crowds thanks to the bands' excellent reputations and loyal fan bases.

Paul from Monkeyface said: "“There are some really worthwhile charities being supported here. Supporting this event can really make a positive difference”.

The Mayor of Tewkesbury Borough Cllr Dave Waters said: "There is so much fantastic local music in Tewkesbury Borough and this event means we can showcase some of this talent in Tewkesbury and support local causes at the same time.

"I really hope the local community comes along, enjoys the music and helps to raise money for local charities."
