Leegomery Methodist Church was built in 1878, with the Sunday School/Community Room being added in 1953. The Community Room was refurbished in 2010 and work was completed on the refurbishment of the Church in 2012. All facilities, which include fully fitted kitchen and toilets, comply with the Disability Act, Health & Safety, Fire Regulations and are Eco Friendly.
The Friends committee organise an Annual Community Family Fun Day, Bingo Evenings, Social Activities, Concerts, Religious Festivals and much more throughout the year. See Forthcoming Events for full details.
All Leaders of our Children and Young People’s Groups are CRB checked and the Church has a Safeguarding Policy for Children, Young People and Vulnerable Adults.
Morning Worship is held on the 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 5th Sunday of each month at 11am for which everyone is welcome.
Afternoon Worship is held on the 4th Sunday of each month at 4pm (which includes children's activities)
Messy Church is held on 2nd Sunday of each month at 4.30pm (unless otherwise stated).
A Fun Sunday School for children & young people of all ages also meets each week at 11am. This is nothing like day school. Those attending take part in games, crafts, listen to stories and have lots of fun. Parents are welcome to stay with their children, and toys can be provided for the very young.
2nd Leegomery Brownies meet every Tuesday (term time) from 5.45pm - 7pm. This is for girls from 7 - 11 years old.
Parents, Carers & Toddlers Group (0 - 5 years old). Currently, no volunteers are available to run this group at present, so if anyone would like to restart the group or if there are some parents who are looking for a venue to meet together, the Church has a cupboard full of toys, games, craft material, etc, which can be used by children in this age range. Please contact us if you are interested, and room hire costs can be discussed (see contact page for details).
1st Leegomery Rainbows meet every Tuesday (term time) from 5.45pm to 7pm. This is for girls from 5 - 7 years old.
Children’s Activities/Children’s Clubs:
Friday Evening Fun Club for children and young people of any age meet each week from 7pm - 9pm. Activities during summer months include: football, sports, tracking, treasure hunts, etc.
For winter months: quizzes, bingo, penny hunt, crafts, discos, etc. Admission Free - tuck shop available.
Saturday Morning Activity Club for children and young people of any age meet each week from 9.30am - 12 noon. Parents, grandparents or carers, why not drop your children off whilst you go shopping, do household chores or have time to yourselves. For the first part, the younger children (under 5's) take part in active play, whilst those over 5 take part in arts, crafts, cooking, etc. A break for the tuck shop takes place - then all ages come together for the final part for games and lots of fun.
Youth Group
Chillzone Youth Group meet monthly on a Saturday evening from 6pm - 8pm for young people from Year 7 upwards. Meeting in the Community Room and taking part in snooker, table tennis, table football and various games or just Chilling Out. Outings are also arranged to go bowling, climbing wall, ice skating, the cinema, etc. On these occasions times may vary. Please contact our Youth Leader for dates, etc.
Lettings - Rooms can be hired at reasonable charges for meetings, children’s parties, starting a new group, fund raising activities, social events, etc. Please contact our Lettings Manager for further details.
