Shropshire law firm PCB urges Wills to update his Will

With the Prince of Cambridge joining the royal ranks, William and Kate will need to update their wills and also give some thought to guardianship and protection in the future warns Lynn Vowles, a Solicitor with Shropshire-based PCB Solicitors.

"I know that it's the last thing that most new parents want to think about, particularly when they are knee-deep in nappies and night feeds, but it's essential that they take just a little time out in these early days to give them ongoing peace of mind in the future. It's commonly assumed amongst most parents that their wishes will be carried out if the worst should ever happen, but if they die intestate without making a will there are no guarantees that this will happen."

"And if they pass away before their child or children reach 18, then a legal guardian needs to be appointed to take on responsibility for the day-to-day care of the children, their education, and their finances. Although the court will appoint someone it thinks appropriate in this role if needed, most parents would much rather make such an important choice themselves. And there are other considerations as well - perhaps not what you may wish to think about when you are holding a new bundle of joy in your arms, but something that you absolutely should."

"Becoming a parent is daunting to say the least and the whole team at PCB Solicitors wishes William and Kate well at this special time. And if they or any other new parents need any support, advice or guidance myself and my colleagues are just on the end of the phone on 01952 403000"Â she concluded.
