Packing for uni, I've got my meat!

In about a month I’ll be leaving Telford for Manchester.
I’m going to university there to study for a Journalism degree.
I have begun packing but think i’ll leave most of it to the last minute to be honest, my mum is sorting all the kitchen stuff and bedding etc.
But there is one piece of Telford i’ll be taking with me - meat from my local family butchers.
I am Will Strickland and I am friend of the managing director of G. N. Badley & Sons Simon Badley.
I have the honour of writing a guest blog this month because, let’s face it, I have provided Simon with a great idea.
We were talking about how I am off to uni and the things I will miss about Telford - besides missing him as a friend I also mentioned I will miss the meat from his family butchers.
And bang - we came up with an idea.
G. N. Badley & Sons are launching a new value meat box designed especially for students.
It will be jam packed full of meat that I can use to cook simple meals and can be delivered to halls of residence anywhere in the UK within 24 hours of being ordered.
Simon mentioned that they were already using an overnight courier to deliver boxes of meat to holiday homes, caravan parks and the like so I wanted in.
The value meat box for students is £50 and includes four packs of mince beef, two packs of stir fry chicken, 18 classic pork sausage, 18 dry cured back bacon, a pack of diced chicken, two packets of stir fry beef, four beef burgers and an 8oz rump steak for free.
I am already looking forward to ordering one when I get to Manchester and I am sure all my housemates will be impressed too.
Once I get to know them, it could be something that we could all club together and pay for between us so we can share the meat too - I can’t believe how much meat there is going to be in one box.
And if it’s just when the student loan comes in and I’m feeling a little more flash - I could get a meat box for the family, a meat box for beef lovers and barbecue meat boxes - they also do a meat box for two.
Just need to order it and then i’ll look on the G. N. Badley & Sons Facebook page for a few recipe ideas!
Simon also tells me that £1 from the sale of any barbecue meat box is donated to The Georgia Williams Trust, the charity set up in memory of Telford teenager Georgia Williams.
They’ve already raised £50. for the trust and money from each sale will continue to be collected until the end of the year.
Another thing to tell my new housemates and fellow students about, they can donate to charity without even realising it.
All in all, I am pleased to have had a hand in creating this new product for the butchers.
I might even suggest to my mum that it would be a perfect house warming present for me when I go, I know she’ll be missing me and wanting to know that I’m eating well!
