For countryside fans, and enthusiasts of all things rural, this weekend’s Midland Game fair is a must.

The premier event of its kind, the two-day fair at Weston Park near Newport, held on Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th September,  boasts a massive range of entertainments.

There’s  clay pigeon shooting, game and course fishing demonstrations, gun dog competitions and falconry displays, and even a chance to catch some ferrets racing – or not catch them, as the case may be...

Alongside this, you can browse more than 600 trade stalls, including antiques and fine arts, and find out more about rural crafts from the experts.

People travelling from a little further afield can really make it a visit to remember and live like a lord, with a two-night stay available at the glorious stately home in Weston Park.
