Visit Blists Hill Victorian Town during February half-term week and take part in two fantastic hands-on workshops. Discover the art of candle dipping or create your own Valentine’s card in these great family-friendly activities which run from Saturday 11th until Sunday 19th February 2012.

The museum is holding a series of Valentine’s card making workshops in association with The British Postal Museum & Archive (BPMA). These fun hands-on workshops will be based upon the BPMA’s beautiful collection of original Victorian Valentine’s Day cards. Visitors can put their artistic skills and imagination to good use in the Goods Shed to create their own special card for a loved one. The card-making workshops are included in the admission fee and are great fun for all the family.

Candle-dipping workshops will also be available in the Goods Shed as part of the museum’s half-term activities. Visitors can try their hand at creating their own special candle in these fun-filled workshops with each candle costing just £1.30.

During the course of the week visitors will also be able to take a look at a small yet fascinating display of original Victorian Valentine’s Day cards including Victorian ‘hate’ cards at the Victorian Post Office, courtesy of the BPMA. 

There is an additional cost of £1.30 per candle at the candle dipping workshops in addition to the museum admission fee. Open from 10am until 4pm daily, Blists Hill Victorian Town is one of the ten Ironbridge Gorge Museums; entry is £14.95 adults; £11.95 for the 60 plus and £9.95 for children (up to 18 years and in full time education), under 5s free.

A great value Annual Passport Ticket is also available which can be purchased for entry into Blists Hill Victorian Town and the 9 other Ironbridge Gorge Museums allowing an unlimited number of fascinating days out and repeat visits over 12 months. The Annual Passport Ticket is priced at £61.50 for a family, £22.50 for an adult, £18.25 for the 60 plus and £14.75 for students and children.
