Dear Hazel and Graham, We're sorry to have taken a few days to send this message, we really had to say a big thank you for making our recent stay at "The Stanage" so enjoyable. It's so nice to find hosts who care about their guests and make them feel welcome from the moment they arrive, and to sit and chat with you over a great cuppa made a good start to our weekend. And as to your "full Shropshire"........simply delicious! Having sorted out The Long Mynd we then conquered Wenlock Edge before taking the scenic route home via Ludlow, Hereford and Ross-on-Wye to complete a smashing short break. Thank you once again. Mary and Graham A.

Thank you for all your help and advice for things to see and do in the area. You run a very friendly B&B, with wonderful breakfasts and comfortable rooms. We both enjoyed our short stay at The Stanage, and hope to return in the near future, as we found plenty still to discover in the area. Richard & Clare Harrison.

The Stanage is highly recommended. After arriving late, hot & tired, it was reassuring to receive such a warm and friendly welcome. Mrs Bexon greeted us with a pot of tea and cakes which were gratefully received after a long journey. We stayed for 2 very relaxing nights - the food was delicious and the accommodation very comfortable. We visit the area most years - finally we have found a place we want to return to. Thank you - see you next year.

I stayed here for 2 nights recently and found it a most welcoming and comfortable place. Hazel and her husband went to great lengths to make my stay as pleasant as possible, with a cup of tea and cake on arrival, tea coffee and Horlicks in the rooms plus biscuits, chocs and bottled water every day on top of a fine breakfast every morning at a time that suited me. Rooms very clean and en-suite newly fitted out, TV with digibox plus DVD - just about everything. Highly recommend - will come back.

I can honestly say I have never stayed in such a welcoming B & B as I did at the Stanage. Our hosts were extremely friendly, helpful and knowledgable of the local area. We were led to some delightful tea rooms for home made cream teas. I shall be visiting this area again and will be staying at the Stanage as I wouldn't want anything less!

From the first moment that we arrived, our stay at the Stanage was filled with happiness and relaxation. With their friendly, helpful attitude, Hazel & Graham made us feel completely at home. After the initial warm welcome, with a much needed cup of tea, they continued to provide many friendly smiles, enjoyable conversation and useful advice about the local area. The room we stayed in was of a high standard, with fantastic furnishings, a very comfortable bed and an attractive garden view. The ensuite facilities were very convenient and well cleaned. I felt that the simple, yet sophisticated décor worked well with the beauty of this gorgeous Edwardian house. A good day always starts with a great breakfast, and we were thoroughly satisfied by the wholesome foods on offer. From muesli to cooked breakfast, Hazel has a talent for somehow making healthy food incredibly tasty. It was an all round wonderful service. We would highly recommend The Stanage to anyone, whether they are seeking a weekend break or a much longer stay. Its location is ideal for both walks in the beautiful Shropshire countryside; a day of shopping and enjoying the nearby towns, such as Telford and Shrewsbury, (or wherever takes your fancy!); or simply as a sanctuary in the evenings for rest and repose if you are working in the region. It is not often that I take the time to write reviews, but I was so pleased with our stay at The Stanage that I felt compelled to let others know. So please do visit and I hope you enjoy it too! Liked — The friendly, welcoming atmosphere; helpful service; and beautiful decor. Disliked — Having to leave!
